The Kid's Corral - Programs PROGRAMS

The Kid’s Corral offers nutritious, well-balanced meals and snacks in all programs, with the exception of infants. Parents of infants will be asked to provide their child’s formula and/or cereal, allowing each child to continue their specified diet. All other programs offer breakfast, morning snack, lunch and afternoon snacks.

INFANTS
At the Kids’ Corral, the infant room provides a nurturing and stimulating environment, while providing loving care to each child. Our low infant to caregiver ratio allows for the best possible environment for your child.

At The Kid’s Corral, infants are cared for by trained staff in a loving, clean and safe environment. In the infant room our staff works with families and infants to follow individual schedules, which meet the needs of each infant. As well, our staff works with each infant to achieve developmentally appropriate milestones in the areas of language development, small and gross motor skills, social and emotional development, music, movement and song.

Daily activities you experience with your child at home, such as smiling, talking, playing and stimulating will also be part of their day at The Kid’s Corral. This kind of individual attention and stimulation is important for your child’s cognitive and social-emotional growth.

In addition, we offer a developmentally appropriate outdoor play area for our infants, allowing them fresh air and fun exploration. Parents receive a daily report to keep them informed of their child’s activities and advancements.

TODDLERS

In the toddler room, The Kid’s Corral staff works with children to function on a routine daily schedule with planned activities that promote appropriate development in each child. The staff focuses on assisting children in meeting developmental milestones in the areas of language development, listening skills, physical development and play, music and art appreciation, fine and gross motor skills, social and emotional development as well as color and shape recognition.

Our curriculum offers opportunities for hands-on activities encouraging your child to explore, inquire and discover the world around them. Teachers read aloud to students on a daily basis. Stories promote fun, adventure and imagination, thereby promoting literacy and a lifelong love of learning.

Educational research has shown that early interactive reading experiences between children and adults lead to future success in school. The outdoor playground is developmentally appropriate providing each child with the fun and active play necessary for a well-rounded, positive daily experience in a clean and safe environment.

It is our goal to provide each child with the necessary foundation needed to learn and grow. Each parent receives a daily report to keep them informed of their child’s activities, discoveries and advancements.

TWO YEAR OLDS
The two-year-old room at The Kid’s Corral uses an integrated curriculum to promote learning in a developmentally appropriate, clean and safe environment. Two year olds develop many new language and gross motor skills, as well as developing their sense of independence.

Staff trained to work with this age and to promote a positive self-image in our two year olds use a professionally designed curriculum to ensure all areas of development are being met. Children learn to work in a variety of individual, and small and large cooperative group activities.

Each day teachers provide activities for the children to explore in art, blocks and dramatic play, promoting creativity. This is the age when interactive reading becomes even more important. We focus on your child’s speaking, listening and vocabulary development.

We provide opportunities for early math concept learning, such as number recognition (1-10), matching and color/shape recognition.

The outdoor playground is developmentally appropriate providing each child with the fun and active play necessary for a well-rounded, positive daily experience.

It is our goal to provide all children with a strong educational and emotional foundation before moving into the pre-school program. Each parent receives a daily report to keep them informed of their child’s activities, discoveries and advancements.

THREE AND FOUR YEAR OLDS (PRE-SCHOOL)

Preschool children at The Kid’s Corral are taught by trained staff, using a professionally designed curriculum. The classrooms provide loving, structured learning for all children. The curriculum prepares preschoolers for their future educational experiences through a developmentally appropriate approach.

Students begin to learn phonemic awareness and letter recognition, critical reading and thinking skills and age-appropriate math concepts. Just as in the toddler room, children in pre-school also participate in daily interactive reading activities, promoting literacy skills.

The curriculum promotes independence, fosters decision-making and encourages hands-on participation through books, puzzles, painting, cutting and more. Children explore learning concepts in thematic based units, created to accommodate all learning styles.

Children have opportunities to sing, dance, play, talk, create and have fun! The outdoor playground is developmentally appropriate providing each child with the fun and active play necessary for a well-rounded, positive daily experience. Each parent receives a daily report to keep them informed of their child’s activities, discoveries and advancements.

PART TIME PRE-SCHOOL

The Kid’s Corral also offers a part-time preschool for children whose families are not seeking full time care, but would like the opportunity to attend preschool. This program has trained staff using the same curriculum as our other preschool classrooms. Children participating in this program will attend a shorter day and will follow Denton ISD and Aubrey ISD school calendars. We provide parents with a calendar each school year.

AFTER-SCHOOL (Ages 5-12)
The after-school program at The Kid’s Corral offers school age children a safe, structured and educational environment. Supervision and support is available before school as well.

Our program offers quiet homework time, with tutorials in all areas. We also recognize the need for students to enjoy themselves after a long day at school.

Our playground includes a basketball court, swings and age appropriate playscape. Indoors we offer a variety of games, puzzles, projects and cooperative group activities.

Special programs are available for these students on holidays and summer breaks as well. During the summer break, The Kid’s Corral offers a camp type atmosphere for school age children.
